A local non-profit has answered a challenge from an international ministry. Last week On His Path of Wayland sent a 40 foot container filled with donations to Guatemala.

According to Executive Director, Emily Ferguson, On His Path has partnered with Bethel International Ministry, who gives donated wheelchairs to those in need in Guatemala. Representatives from Bethel paid Iowa a visit recently and after considering they were short 200 wheelchairs for next year, they presented a challenge to On His Path.

In the end they were able to collect 126 wheelchairs, 33 power chairs, 246 walkers, 214 crutches, 26 canes and 64 boxes of useful miscellaneous items. The 40 ft trailer was loaded and sent on its way last Monday. She adds starting in 2013 they hope to send two containers per year.
