It’s never too early to start thinking about a future career and tomorrow some local 7th graders will learn that first hand. Tomorrow area businesses and schools will gather at the University of Iowa to introduce students to STEM careers and concepts. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. According to Jennifer Ott with Kirkwood, Mid-Prairie was one of the schools chosen to take part due to their interest in STEM events and what they’re doing to promote the program. By the end of the day 100 Mid-Prairie 7th graders will have a better understanding of what kind of difference they can make in a STEM career. The event is being organized by the Workplace Learning Connection.
