A few Washington County 4-H Members are taking part in a program that’s new this year. The high school age program is called the 4-H ELITE Project Team.  The Washington County 4-H Youth Coordinator Amy Green calls it: small but mighty.

So far, the members include Jonah Van Roekel, Lauren Carter, Austin Witt, Kaycee Miller, Hunter Bell, and Mitchell Hora. The volunteers leading the programs are Julie Altenhofen and John Carter.

The group has been planning an event aimed at Junior High members.  Green says that during a recent brainstorming ideas that will help the larger group of 4-H.  One concern of their was the number of annual 4-H projects for the county fair that do not get started until it’s almost too late.  The group is considering a wintertime session that would hope to help get members off to a good early start.
