One contested race for the Washington City Council is up for a  decision on Election Day next week. The ward three position was vacated last year by Mike Roth, who decided not to seek reelection.  No candidates sought filling the seat in 2011, and so Bob Shellmyer was appointed to the seat by the council.  He now seeks to be elected to remain in the seat.  But Tom Bowler is also interested in serving.

Both men have business experience.  Both say that there are aspects of council business that they would like to see approached differently. Hear more from both candidates in a special two-part Washington Page interview today.
