The WACO girl’s basketball team opens up their regular season play tonight when they play L-M.

The Warriors were 7-14 last year with a 31.2 shooting percentage from the floor, but WACO did lose their leading scorer from last year Michaela Kremer who put up 236 points.

They do bring back now Sophomore Aaliyah Brown who had 177 points last year, as well as Ashley Sutton who put 87.

L-M went 5-17 last year, shooting just 29.3 percent from the floor. L-M loses both of their leading scorers in Shayla Fordyce who had 222, and Rhea Veal who had 196. They bring back their number three in Melanie Luttrull who had just 89 points on the year.

Lady Warrior head coach Shannon Rugg said tonight is about not turning the ball over and rebounds.

“We’re going to have to rebound the basketball, we’re going to have to run a little bit, those kind of go hand in hand, we want to run, but if we don’t bring down the basketball it’s hard to do that,” Rugg said. “Our defense is going to set it off so hopefully we can get that figured out, play hard defense bring down the basketball and then get our and run and take it to the bucket.”

WACO and L-M play tonight in WACO at 6 P.M.
