In the annual report of Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman, two long-term priorities were highlighted.
Goodman told the Washington City Council Wednesday that he has appreciated having small cameras that officers wear at all times.
He says the footage assists with officer safety and it helps describe an incident at a later time, such as in the courtroom. But Goodman would like to upgrade to cameras that are better able to record at night.
Goodman also says the department hopes to invest in a new records-management system that’s more compatible with other jurisdictions and to replace the current system that he calls nearly obsolete.
