The Washington Community School District has more students enrolled this year. Compared to last year, they are up 27-point-8-7 students. The reason it is not a whole number is that the district has a weighted system that puts students in different categories. In theory, it costs more or less to educate certain students. A special education student might require more staff time or other resources than a traditional student and so they are weighted higher. A home-schooled student does not require as much financially and so they are weighted lower. All three school district in Washington County had increased enrollment this year.
