Mid-Prairie had their Jamboree last night, and Washington struggled against Keota, losing 26- 11 in a half of basketball.

Keota’s Luke Lyle had nine points on the night, while Nate Owen had five.

Keota head coach Dan Stout said that his team looks great for 16 minutes, but there is a whole other half that has to be played.

“It’s a perfect start for 16 minutes, but then we have to do it for a full game, and continue to do it game after game, and coach Lyle and I were just talking after and saying that we are either going to be in great shape or dead tired, one or the other.” Stout said. “We’re looking at probably being in great shape with the kids that we have.”

The Demons were led by Daryn Sebelius with five points, and Saturday’s leading scorer Justin Hoffman was held to just two points.

Demon head coach Bryce Smeins said this game was a step backward from Saturday.

“I thought Saturday we played hard for 32 minutes in full court pressure and got after it and got a lot of 50/50 balls we got to, and out rebounded them, from Saturday to now it was probably a step backward in that aspect,” Smeins said, “Saturday night I thought we played well on offense and moved the ball really well, and we didn’t shoot very well from the line, but we got to the line 35 times and tonight we shot two free throws maybe, just a lack of aggression tonight compared to Saturday.”

Washington opens up play against Mid-Prairie on Tuesday, while Keota starts on Tuesday against BGM.
