The Washington Demon wrestling team gets practice started this week, but don’t have their first meet for a couple of weeks.

The Demons will host two meets this year, one against Keokuk on Dec. 13 and one against Mt. Pleasant on Jan. 10.

Washington will wrestle many out of class area schools in quadrangular’s and triangulars throughout the season.

Head coach Brent Van Weelden says his goals and the team’s goals are pretty easy.

“Same thing as every year, we want to go out and compete hard,” Van Weelden said. “All I want my kids to do is do their best, and if they go out and wrestle hard and get ready for each meet as they should, the wins and loses take care of themselves.”

Washington starts their season off on Nov. 29 at Highland.
