The Washington YMCA has set a tentative date of Tuesday for being done with repairs to its pool. The pool has been closed for weeks after an initial problem with the pool’s filtration system.  After that repair, another problem was found with the pool’s main cast-iron drain, which was found to be deteriorated.

Now the Washington Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for what is hoped to be after the completion of the final repair.  That ceremony would be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the YMCA Director Becky Harkema, and chamber representatives.

The ceremony will only be held if the pool is ready to be re-opened at that time. Harkema started a short-term fundraiser to help pay for the 30-thousand dollar repair.
