The annual Tour of Homes in Washington had more than double last year’s turnout. The Washington Chamber of Commerce plans the event, which this year included five homes decorated for the holidays.

Chamber Executive Director Michelle Peiffer says that more than five-hundred people took the tour over the two-day period last weekend.  Peiffer says that the relatively nice weather was a factor in the higher numbers.  She also credits the hard work of volunteers and the families that offered their homes for the tour.

The proceeds from the tour help maintain the winter-time lights on the downtown buildings
