The City of Washington is purchasing a new pickup truck for use by maintenance workers. The City Council approved the 27-thousand dollar purchase from Gretter Autoland in Washington. Another company in Johnson County offered a similar vehicle for about 500 dollars less, but the council decided that purchasing through a local dealer is more beneficial in this case. The Chevy Silverado will help haul equipment for maintaining the sewers, among other duties.
