The Columbus Junction girl’s basketball team will face Lone Tree tonight in the first half of a week of bookend games.

The Wildcats are coming off a win against WACO and L-M. They are shooting 31 percent from the floor and 45 percent from the free throw line.

Megan Pretz leads the way with 63 points for Columbus Junction, and leads in rebounds as well.

Head coach Nate Carlson said he doesn’t mind playing on Monday, his team will play anywhere any time.

“We’ll play them at any time, we’re not interested in when we play or who we play, we have to continue to worry about our self, worry about our self and how we’re going to do the little things,” Carlson said.

Lone Tree is 4-3 and is shooting 42 percent from the floor, 46 from three point range and 54.5 percent from the free throw line.

They are led by Madelyn Flemr with 91 points. Flemr also leads in rebounds.

Lion head coach Travis Pierson said it’s tough to prepare for a team on a Monday.

“It’s kind of a bitter sweet thing, we won against Highland last time and lost against Columbus, so we have pretty much zero time to prepare against Columbus and a lot of time for Highland, so that will be good,” Pierson said.

Lone Tree and Columbus Junction play tonight at Lone Tree at 6:00.
