The drought conditions in Washington County remain unchanged, but we could see some improvement moving into the New Year.The U.S. Drought Monitor is classifying the intensity of the drought in the majority of southeast Iowa as moderate. Across Iowa the drought has eased since September, but for most of the state additional relief isn’t expected in the near future. Washington County and other eastern Iowa counties, however, could see some improvement by March.
