We’re in the midst of the second shotgun deer season and as hunters are heading out into the woods they’re reminded to keep it safe. DNR Park Ranger Bob Bellmer says to keep the muzzle pointed away from people, especially when loading or unloading. He adds when you do find a target, be aware of what’s beyond it, whether that be a house, a highway or livestock. He says that having the safety on and two hands on the gun at all times will also help you avoid an unnecessary accident.
