The Mid-Prairie wrestling team only got one shot this season to show the hometown crowd what they are all about, and they did not disappoint sweeping both duals in a triangular against Durant and North Cedar Thursday night in Wellman. Mid-Prairie beat up on the Knights by a 66-11 count racking up bonus points along the way. The Golden Hawks recorded falls at 113 from Josh Murphy, 138 from Kendall Bontrager, 152 from Chase Murray, 160 from Miguel Sanchez and 182 from Phirom Peterschmidt.

The dual with Durant was much closer but Mid-Prairie stayed perfect on the young season besting the Wildcats 43-36. Earning wins in contested matches on the night for Mid-Prairie were Jayse Horning at 126 by a 7-5 score, Kendall Bontrager with a pin at 138, Chase Murray who scored a fall at 152, Miguel Sanchez who posted a pin at 160, Cameron Tolander who recorded a fall at 170, Phirom Peterschmidt with a major decision at 182 and Nearth Peterschmidt with a pin at 220. Mid-Prairie is now 4-0 on the dual season and will next be in action over the weekend at the Mt. Vernon tournament.
