Today is this month’s installment of the Washington Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Washington program. The day-long education effort has a different theme every month. Today it’s health and recreation.
For those people participating today, it means visits to the Washington YMCA, JET Physical Therapy, the Washington County Mental Health Disability Services office, Modern Eye Care, and then most of the afternoon is spent at various parts of Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Hamakua Place and the United Presbyterian Home are also included.
The group this year has already had days featuring education and economic development. Future days include business and industry, local governments, agriculture, and local history.
The chamber lists that the purpose of the program is to build strengthen and educate current and future community leaders.
