The Washington Community School’s Board of Education is considering part of next year’s school calendar.  At their meeting tonight, the board will consider making next year’s schedule for early outs and professional development days the same as this year’s. The School Improvement Advisory Committee recently unanimously approved recommending that schedule after doing a survey of teachers.

The meeting tonight also includes discussion about the board’s evaluation of School Superintendent Mike Jorgennsen, reflections from those who attended the Iowa Association of School Board convention, and other reports.

Here’s also a reminder about the holiday schedule: The District’s Central Office will close at 3:00 Friday and will be closed Monday and Tuesday for the holiday. It will also close at noon on Monday, December 31 and be closed on New Year’s Day.

For students, winter break begins when classes are dismissed at 2:20 Friday. Classes resume January 3.
