The Washington City Police Department is in process of purchasing a mobile speed trailer aimed at curbing dangerous driving.  The trailer and a traffic analysis computer costs about 63-hundred dollars.  The department is also applying for partial reimbursement from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau. That would cover more than half of the cost.

The trailers have a one-direction radar that measures a vehicle’s speed and shows it on a large display so a driver can compare that speed with the speed limit.

The purchase would need authorization from the city council, which could occur on Wednesday.
