The student that comes in with a number-one ranking is sometimes declared the valedictorian. But the practice of naming a valedictorian might come to an end at Washington Community School District.  The Washington School Improvement Advisory Committee discussed that issue at their meeting Monday.  School Superintendent Mike Jorgensen says that no decision has been made yet, but they are looking at alternatives to recognizing the best academic achievers.
