Weather conditions like we are currently experiencing can lead to blowing and drifting snow and black ice on the road surface. Dunbar says drivers should not only be thinking about what they can do to avoid an accident but also what they need to do if they are involved in an accident including having a preparedness kit. Dunbar suggests drivers keep a preparedness kit within the vehicle during winter driving including blankets, extra coats, gloves, sandbags for traction and a shovel.
