The Demon boy’s basketball team struggled the first half of their season, going into the break with a 1-6 record, their only win coming against Durant on November 30.

The Demons lost two games on the road against Keokuk and Fairfield by five points or less, and had a 35 plus point blowout against them in their final game before the break.

Demon head coach Bryce Smeins said in the post game of the Ft. Madison loss that the usual starters for Washington of Justin Hoffman, Kyle Roder, Michael Hall, Alex Coker, and from the game against Ft. Madison Elijah Wood, may not be making their way to the court to start out of the break, as the Demons as a team are stalled on offense shooting 29.8 percent.

Midway through the Ft. Madison game, Washington did put a new five in, giving us a preview that the coaching staff is looking for someone to step up and help out in the scoring column.

Washington starts their second half of the season with Mt. Pleasant at home on Jan. 4 and then play Tipton the next day.
