Most Washington Community School District schools had already completed parent-teacher conferences by last month—except the Assure Center, which is the alternative high school. The school is meant for students that need a different approach to education for a variety of reasons. Conferences were on Monday, and teacher Chad Dillon says that the night is a sort of social event with food, and time for parents to interact with one another.  The Assure Center also has more of a student-led conference, where students rate themselves on several categories of educational performance.  Then a teacher might enter the conversation if they don’t quite agree.
