The Columbus Junction boy’s basketball team finished the first half of their season still looking for that first win.

The 0-8 Wildcats are shooting 41.8 percent from the floor and scoring 46 points per game, but have given up 62 or more points in eight of their loses.

Columbus Junction is led by Chase Finke with 80 points.

Head coach Mark Beerends said he hopes to build his teams shooting confidence during the break.

“We’re just going to keep working on the basics of breaking presses, and ball handling and shooting,” Beerends said. “We’re probably going to be doing a lot more shooting just because I think a lot of our guys are not confident enough when they take their shots, and then when they miss a shot they need to have that confidence that every time they shoot that it is going to go in no matter if it is a make or miss.”

Columbus Junction opens up the second half of the season with Wapello.
