Congratulations to Kaitlin Buchholz who signed her letter of intent yesterday to play Softball at Iowa Western.

Buchholz said it was just that feeling of belonging to the college as to why she chose them.

“I love their campus, their program is great and I just went there and it was the legit feeling that this is right,” Buchholz said.

Buchholz had three homers and a batting average of .414 last season and while catching for the Demons she caught five kids stealing out of 15.

Demon head softball coach Angie Schrader talked about Kaitlin and how she has developed as a catcher for the team.

“As a catcher you can take charge of the team, and we say that the catcher is the one that can see the entire field because they see everything in front of them and is involved in every pitch, and they have to be ready and focus and she has done a very good job and has stepped up, and I think this year will be better because she has had more time to catch Ashley [Rausch] and obviously her and Maddie [Bohr] have spent a lot of time pitching and catching together,” Schrader said. “Going to Iowa Western, with all of her teams that she has had here, the hard work there is going to be something she is accustom to.”

Buchholz is the second player from last year’s team that went to state to sign for college this year.
