The Columbus girls beat Pekin last night in overtime 34-32.

After a bad first half for the Wildcats in which they scored eight points, just one free throw made in the second quarter, they came out in the second half a new team scoring 24 in the second half to tie the game at 32.

Defenses closed up and offenses dried up in overtime as Columbus was the only team to make a basket and got the win because of it.

The Wildacat’s were led by Caitlin Chaney with 12 points on the night, all of her points came from three.

Columbus is now 8-7 overall and 7-7 in the conference.
