The Washington Demon boy’s basketball team is back in action tonight when they host Mt. Pleasant in a rivalry match to start off the second half of the season.

The Demons are 1-6 and shooting just 29 percent from the field and 58 percent from the free throw line.

Washington is led by Kyle Roder with 102 points and 14.6 points per game, 4.3 points more than second place Justin Hoffman.

Washington will showcase if there was anything done differently over the break in the lineup tonight at home.

Mt. Pleasant won’t have to work hard for some jeers by the Washington side tonight, they come into the game 5-2 and shooting 45 percent from the field and 60 percent from the charity stripe.

They are an all around team, with four players with 60 points or more, and their leading scoring being Faith Pope with 79.

Demon head coach Bryce Smeins said this is one of those games that you’re excited for, but right out of the break is going to be tough.

“It’s definitely a tough start in January, so we have to get ready to play them, and we’re going to see pressure, a full court man and some zone and man-to-man defense,” Smeins said, “So we’re just trying to figure our ways to guard them and take care of business with them.”
