The Washington Demons will play host to Keokuk tonight.

The Demons will defend their undefeated conference record, although they have recently dropped out of the rankings.

Washington is 11-5 and is shooting 35 percent from the field and scoring 45 points per game.

Lauren Kimball leads the way in points with 119 on the year, with Beth Dillon close behind with 118 and Stephanie Fishback with 112.

Keokuk is 6-7 and is shooting 38.5 percent from the floor and scoring 45 points per game.

They are led by Rachel Dunlap with 160 points on the year.

Demon head coach Phil Long said the key to the win is get the offense going, and defense will come.

“We need to get the lid off the rim, if our kid can come out shooting first few up going West, and feel a little confidence I think it could snowball on them,” Long said. “We’ve had really two could practices, I conditioned them pretty hard Wednesday’s and Thursday’s, I thought that we were out of shape in the Pella game, and we took ice bathes on Thursday night when we get done, and the girls dread those, but try to get their legs back underneath them, and I think now it is just a matter of getting a couple of early buckets and getting our confidence built, and our defense get’s tougher and tougher once our offense sparks a bit.”

With the win tonight Washington would guarantee themselves a share of the conference title. You can hear this game on AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com under radio plus with pregame at 5:45 and tip-off at 6:15. The one to count on for today’s local sports coverage is AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com.
