Edwards Trial Continues Tomorrow with Jury Deliberation

The trial of a man accused of sexually assaulting a fellow inmate at the Washington County Jail will continue into a second day of jury deliberation.

Washington County Attorney Larry Brock says both sides presented all of their evidence yesterday in 42-year-old Rudolph Edwards’ trial. The state called alleged victim Martin Medrano-Vargas, former Washington County jailer Angelica Hernandez and Washington County Sheriff Investigator Chad Ellis. The defendant’s called Washington County jailer Katherine Marcano-Bell and Henry County jailer Jean Lawler. The trial resumed yesterday with the reading of jury instructions and then closing arguments. The jury is began deliberating today and will continue tomorrow morning.
