The Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee prepares local agencies for disasters. They also prepare documents that are part of state requirements. They are looking at planning another ‘table-top’ exercise where law enforcement, public health, hospital staff, and other emergency responders talk through a disaster scenario. In the past they have covered such hypothetical situations as a severe blizzard, tornado, bombings, and chemical spills.
The committee’s meetings are open to the public. They meet again on February 15 at the Washington County Hospital.
