The Washington Fire Department has been preparing for tomorrow’s Annual Pancake Day. They move most of the trucks to another location so that hundreds of seats can be set up inside the station. Organizer of the event, fireman Joe Redlinger says that although they are busy in the days leading up to the meal, they have some preparation a year ahead of time. After this week’s event is done, they set the dates at the meat lockers for next year for the 13 hogs they need to make the roughly six-thousand sausage patties.
Tickets are available at the fire station for 7 dollars a piece for adults. Otherwise it’s 8 dollars at the door. The meal is Wednesday from 11 to 1, and then in the evening 5 to 7. Redlinger makes his comments on today’s Washington Page program on KCII.
