It was evident through the early ragged play that both the Mid-Prairie and North Cedar boys were a
little rusty getting back to basketball following the holiday break but it was North Cedar that shook
off the rust first on the way to a key 74-42 Cedar Valley Conference win Thursday night. In a game
heard on KCII, the game was tight at 9-7 after the first quarter following a Dayton Hall buzzer beating
jumper but that was one of very few highlights for Mid-Prairie on the night who would trail by as
many as 44 in the second half.

The Knights defense made it tough on the Hawks all night allowing just 11 points in the first half and
the offense took Mid-Prairie out of the game in the third outscoring the Golden Hawks 30-12 in the
quarter. Mid-Prairie was led by 12 points from Nick Stimson, Dayton Hall added 10. Mid-Prairie is
now 5-2 on the season and 4-2 in the Cedar Valley Conference. The Golden Hawks will be back in
action tonight at home against West Liberty
