Hunter safety courses are planned for the next couple months in Washington County.  Two classes for hunter safety certification are offered.  The first is in February, which will be held at the Washington Middle School.  Jim Cuddeback will be leading that class.  The second course is in March at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park.

Each course has several day’s worth of meetings that are required for completion of certification.  Anyone born after 1971 is required by law to complete a hunter safety course before getting a hunting license.  The classes are open to anyone who is at least 11 years old.  But completions certificates are not valid until a person is at least 12. You can register online at the Iowa D-N-R website.
