This week, an area school continues their longstanding tradition of holding homecoming in the winter. According to Keota High School Principal, Lisa Brenneman, the tradition began around the time Keota began sharing football with Sigourney 25 years ago. She said Keota didn’t want to lose homecoming, so they decided to hold it during basketball season. She says just like any other homecoming week, there are dress up days, contests and a pep rally for the boys and girls basketball game, which is at 6pm tomorrow night.

She says moving the week to football season has always been an option, but adds the students are adamant about keeping the tradition going.
