The WMU girl’s basketball team had many players return this year, and it shows as they finished the first half with a 8-3 record in a highly contested Southeast Iowa Superconference.

WMU is shooting 39.5 percent and scoring 47 points per game.

The Lady Wolves are led by Cassie Kingery with 142 points.

WMU girl’s head coach Mich Wachs said this week will be split with preparing for games and preparing the team.

“The first part of the week will just be preparing ourselves for the second half, and then Wednesday we’ll start game prep for Columbus, we’ve already game prepped already once for them, that was before break,” Wachs said. “We’ll just be fine tuning and trying to get our legs back underneath us, and trying to get that conditioning back that we worked so hard on before break.”

WMU will play Columbus in a make up game on Thursday and then will go to New London on Friday.
