Concerned community members gathered at the Washington County Courthouse Saturday to hear from their legislators. Around 35 people took time out of their Saturday morning to ask Senators Sandy Greiner and Rich Taylor, as well as Representatives Jarad Klein and David Heaton questions about matters that will affect them the most this session.

One item that brought educators and school administrators out was the education reform proposed by Governor Terry Branstad. Some were worried with the alternative pathways to become superintendents and teachers, while others, like Superintendent Chris Armstrong, were concerned about the rate at which allowable growth will be set.

The next briefing, organized by the Washington Chamber of Commerce, is February 16th.
