A Washington County 4-H member that attended a national conference was able to spend five days in Atlanta. The group of twenty Iowa delegates to the National 4-H Congress included Lexi Marek who says that one lesson she learned is the importance of community activities especially in areas hard hit by a slow economy.  The trip included community service work.

After the two day bus trip to Georgia in November, the group attended programs and heard from guest speakers, and the conference theme was to “become a catalyst for change.”

Marek says she also encourages other 4-H members to attend future conferences.
