The Washington County Conservation Board has announced a winter event with a variety of educational programs. The Winter Adventure Day is scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday January 19.  The day includes an ice fishing clinic.  It will include an underwater camera that in theory will let you watch yourself catch a fish.

Other stations will teach about searching for particular animal signs while hiking.  Inside there is a program about Iowa’s owls.  There also will be warm drinks and snacks. People 16 and older need a valid fishing license to participate in the ice fishing.

The event is at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park just west of Ainsworth.
