The Mid-Prairie girls stepped outside of conference play Monday night and honored this year’s Senior class with an impressive 45-19 win over Cedar Valley Christian. Leading 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, the Hawks turned up the defense allowing a total of five points between the second and third quarters while expanding their lead to 33-13 going to the 4th quarter. The Golden Hawks were led by 15 points from Mallory McArtor. Following the game Mid-Prairie recognized this year’s Senior class and their families. Head Coach Marc Pennington spoke about what this group has meant to his program.

“There is no question that there is a special bond having these kids, all 12 of them. We have nine players and three managers, it’s a huge class, they started at 14 when they came in, and just great kids, just outstanding kids great in the class room, great on the floor, great off the floor, work so hard and they have just been great representatives of Mid-Prairie and to have a chance to win back-to-back conference titles with them and to make a run at a state tournament with this group, that would be special,” Pennington said.

Mid-Prairie is now 11-3 overall and will be back in conference play tonight when they travel to Durant. You can hear all of the action with pregame at 5:30 and tipoff at 6 on AM and FM KCII and KCII Radio.com.
