Sometimes a defense can be your best offense. On Thursday night in Clarence, the Mid-Prairie girls
turned up the heat late and scored a 50-19 conference road win. In a game heard on KCII the MidPrairie defense was great in the first half allowing just one North Cedar field goal the entire half,
that came with 45 seconds to play before the break. The Hawks led 23-11 at the break. North Cedar
got back in it during the third quarter, the Mid-Prairie lead stood at just eight going to the final eight
minutes. The last quarter belonged to the Golden Hawks as they shut out North Cedar for the period
and ended the game on a 24-0 run that lasted the entire frame.

Mid-Prairie spread the wealth offensively with eight Golden Hawks finding their way onto the score
sheet led by 10 points from Jess Butters. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the
Cedar Valley conference as they gear up for their big game Saturday afternoon against #4 Mediapolis
as part of Rivalry Saturday at Cornell College. You can hear all of the action live between the Bullettes and the Golden Hawks live on KCII Saturday afternoon with pregame at 2:15 and tip off at
