A program though the Keokuk County Extension Office and Alliant Energy gives residents discounts for the purchase of trees. The Operation Re-Leaf program offers trees for 25 dollars.  They will be distributed on a day in May. On that day, the Extension Office is also having a workshop to help people properly plant the trees.

Among the tree types for sale are spruce, maple, oak, and cherry trees.  Advanced purchasing of the trees is recommended, and registration is needed for the workshop.  Find that information on the Keokuk County Extension Office website.
