Lone Tree wrestled English Valleys and Clear Creek Amana yesterday.
Against English Valleys, Lone Tree came out with the win 42-30.
The Lions got a pin from Ty Robertson at 195, but the rest were forfeits.
Lone Tree lost to CCA 39-18, but Robertson again added a pin at 195 pounds.
Lone Tree head coach Bret Jones said Robertson is a kid that has matured as a wrestler both physically and mentally.
“I’ve known since the first time that I saw [Robertson] wrestle that he was going to be a very good wrestler once he matured into his body, he was always a bigger kid trying to wrestle in the upper weight class with the strength of a light weight, and he has worked hard the last couple of years to put on some strength and grow into his body a little bit, and that is starting to show, and now that he is able to physically wrestle some of the stronger guys he is very successful this year,” Jones said.
Other pins against CCA was Keaton Kane at 160.
Lone Tree will next be in action when they will host a triangular on Thursday with New London and L-M.
