This is Catholic Schools Week. Saint James Elementary in Washington is celebrating with a variety of special events.  The kindergarten through sixth grade school had a kick off event on Saturday night that included a pizza party and a magician.

Saint James Principal Teresa Beenblossom says with the grade realignment in the Washington Community School District, Saint James also decided to change its structure.  This is the last year that the school will include sixth grade.  Next year, the oldest students will be fifth graders.  Tuesday night is a Chamber of Commerce ‘Alive After Five’ at Saint James that will include light refreshments and a display of student’s artwork.
