The Washington County Board of Supervisors has acted on the recommendations made by the Compensation Board. At Tuesdays meeting two motions were made, the first was to acknowledge the Compensations Boards recommendations for the next fiscal year, which called for a 5% raise for the Sheriff, Attorney, and their deputies. A 4% raise for all other departments and employees and a 2% raise for the supervisors. The supervisors decided not to give themselves a raise and cut the recommendations for the other elected officials in half.

Supervisor Stan Stoops wanted to make it clear that performance is not taken into consideration for the Compensation Board’s recommendations. Instead they look at inflation and state averages.
