The Washington Chamber of Commerce and Washington Main Street have a full list of upcoming events they and their members are planning. One is the next edition of Slow Down and Savor Washington.  The event is an evening of small meals at various restaurants and establishments in downtown Washington.  The night includes live music at many of the participating locations. That event is January 19.

The Chamber also helps to arrange the monthly legislative briefings with updates from the state house and senate representatives.  The first of several briefings is also January 19; it’s at the Washington County Courthouse.  The first briefing is usually at a point in the legislative session when few bills have been brought forward, but priorities are outlined, and the public is welcome to address the representatives.

Another upcoming community event is the usually highly-attended Fireman’s Pancake Day at the Washington Fire Station on January 16.
