The Washington Demon girls fell to Pella last night 50-40.

Washington’s basket in the first half had a cover over it, as the Demon could not make a shot from three point range, and struggled with shots right under the basket.

The Demons trailed 8-7 after one, and 20-14 after two.

In the third quarter the Demon came back out and started to shoot better, as Dema Giardino finally broke the missed three point streaked and landed a couple from down town, but Washington still trailed after three 33-27.

The Lady Dutch’s offensive play and ability to force turnovers in the fourth quarter got them the win 50-40.

Washington’s leading scorer was Grace Redlinger with 10 and Dema Giardino with nine.

The Demons shot 15-27 from the free throw line.

Washington will be back in action on Friday when they take on Keokuk back in conference play. You can hear that game right here on AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com.
