The Washington Demon girl’s basketball team will host Fairfield tonight to start their second time around the conference.

Washington is 10-4 and is shooting 35.5 percent from the field and scoring 42 points per game.

The Demons are led by Lauren Kimball with 102 points, but with a sprained ankle at the end of the Muscatine game she is questionable on the night.

Fairfield is 5-7 and is shooting 31 percent from the field and scoring 42 points per game as well.

Sydney Baumann is the leading scoring for the Trojans with 171 points and Marisa Repp with 122 points.

Demon head coach Phil Long said point guard play and toughness under the basket will determine this game.

“I think we have to handle their full court pressure, if we are going to start to have a few different people playing a few different spot for a few minutes, if Kimball’s not ready to go, then Dema Giardino will be starting for us at point guard, but then who’s going to come in for Dema when she’s tired, those two kids just can’t turn the ball over much to give us a chance, and then rebounding. We have not done a very good job the last two games to limit the other teams other opportunities,” Long said.
