The Washington city water infrastructure has been targeted by the administration and elected officials as needing major repair or replacement work. Paying for those projects could mean incremental increases to water bills over several years.

Among the needs are a re-furbishing of the water treatment plant, a new ground-level storage tank, a new water tower, and eventually a new well.

The Washington City Council is ultimately responsible for decisions about water and sewer rate changes, and they will be discussing next year’s budget in detail starting in a few weeks.
