The Winfield-Mt. Union boy’s basketball team has had its struggles in the first half of the season sitting at 1-7 in the break.

The Wolves are scoring 46 points per game and shooting 30.6 percent from the field.

WMU is led by Jake Edwards with 99 points and Max Fricke with 90 points.

WMU head coach Cody Wolfe said some scrimmages and regular practice will help get his team back into shape.

“Right now we’re focusing on getting back into shape, it doesn’t take long to get out of shape, you miss four or five days of practice and a couple of games, it’s hard to get back in shape,” Wolfe said. “So right now we’re trying to get back into form, work a little conditioning and get up and down the court and I think [Saturday’s] scrimmages will help us get back into form.”

WMU will make up their game against Columbus on Thursday, and play Friday at New London.
