The Washington Chamber of Commence is accepting nominations for awards for the year 2012 Every year, they present the Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and a Community Service Award.
For business of the year, the chamber looks for a business that encourages employee involvement in the community and that has participated in the chamber’s planning. For citizen of the year, they look for a person that has enhanced the quality of life in the community, promoted the community, or has started new programs or services.
The Community Service Award is given to someone or some group that has been in Washington for at least two years. It’s to recognize people or groups that have had a major impact on the community though involvement in an event or series of events.
The nominations are due at the end of the month. The awards are presented during the annual chamber dinner, which this year is March 18.
